President Ruto Promises Improved Services for Kenyans in the Diaspora
President Ruto has reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving services to Kenyans living and working abroad.
The president pointed out that the newly created State Department for Diaspora Affairs will boost service delivery to Kenyans abroad, especially on consular matters.
“We are going to decentralize and use technology to bring as many services as we can online. We know many Kenyans spend hours and days traveling to get consular services,” he said.
Ruto also underscored the crucial role the diaspora community plays in the country’s economy, saying diaspora remittances are the biggest source of foreign exchange for Kenya.
“When you support your families back home you are also making a valuable contribution to the economy. Diaspora remittances are now Kenya’s biggest source of foreign exchange,” he added.
The president was speaking on Thursday in Washington, DC, where he met Kenyans living and working in the United States.
“We are keen to work with you; to utilize your networks to bring investments to Kenya so that we can create opportunities and move our country forward,“ he added.
The president was accompanied by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua, and his Trade counterpart Moses Kuria, among other government officials.

Actions speak louder than words. All Kenyans with a foreign passport applying for Kenyan citizenship should get "Miguna Miguna" special treatment. He was asked to send a valid photo and then received his Kenyan passport in less than a month.

Well said and put @Conish! Kenyans in America do not have an Embassy to represent them. The government hired dummies who work there are simply useless, silly, foolish, poorly educated and badly mannered, and a host of many other bad words (expletives) to describe them. They all feel like they shit golden excretes and have no respect for the Kenyans they are supposed to serve. CS Mutua should be assigned there for a good damn month to see what the hell we all go through..

i am still awaiting to receive my passport that i renewed while in kenya since january. I was told it will be mailed to kenyan consular in USA, i was given an email address to write to overseasnbi@gmail.com to inquire about my passport.I wrote someone repeonded then went mute. I heve written 3 times and the mutes keep muting... Sijui wanangoja hongo...if so they are not getting nothing from me ....Getting a passport is every citizens right and nobody should pay hongo to get one. Otherwise they can use my passport to wipe their ass as i am not giving any hongo to get my passport. Let it rot there.....soooo pissed

Doing business with a brandy “shithole” Kenyan Embassy personnel in America is like pulling out a canine tooth out of a vicious bulldog! They got the job, got the chance to live in America with a Diplomatic status and immunity; and certainly that is all which matters the them idiots - including the fake black African Ambassador. They do not care about any body but themselves.
