Several youths spent their night in police station after they were arrested at Aram market in Rarieda following chaos and violence as rival supporters of Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and opponent Nicholas Gumbo clashed at a National Super Alliance (NASA) rally organized by Raila Odinga.

Chaos erupted moments after Raila, addressing residents in Dholuo, called for six-piece voting system in the August 8 elections.

Raila was forced to cut short his speech after angry rival supporters of the two Siaya gubernatorial contenders attacked each other using clubs and stones before the police officers intervened and arrested several of them.

Raila argued that for him to be President, he needed foot soldiers to guard him, even as he called for residents to only vote for ODM candidates, something that did not go well with independent candidate’s Nicholas Gumbo supporters

Gumbo decamped from the Orange party after he controversially lost to his rival Cornel Rasanga in the race for ODM ticket for Siaya gubernatorial seat and is now contesting as an independent candidate.

The comes just a day after a similar was witnessed in Busia County on Sunday as supporters of governor Sospeter Ojaamong of ODM clashed with those of independent candidate, Funyula MP Paul Otuoma in front of Raila in Busia Town.

Several journalists filming the incident were rescued by police officers after the angry youth descended on them.

Whatever happened to the buck stops with the top most CEO, he may not organize but bucks stop with him. When you are all after Uhuru over a bridge collapse, was he the engineer or construction manager???? You can dish it but y'all cannot take it - double standard NASWA :-)
