President Uhuru Sends Warning to Corrupt Governors

President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned corrupt governors that his administration will prosecute them if he is re-elected in next month’s polls.  

Speaking during a campaign tour to Kilifi County on Monday, the head of state said that some governors had misused funds given to them by the national government.

“If we are re-elected in August, there are some governors who stole public funds and we shall arrest them,” said President Kenyatta at Ganze trading Centre in Kilifi County.

 “Your governor being one of them.” The head of state added, referring to Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi.

The Head of State, who was accompanied by his deputy William Ruto during a series of campaign rallies in Tana River, Kilifi and Lamu counties hit out at the opposition, accusing them of dividing the country along tribal lines.

 “While we are busy uniting Kenyans, NASA top leaders are busy dividing you, since that is their only tool for votes,” said President Kenyatta.

The president also announced the creation of four sub-counties of Chonyi and Kauma in Kilifi County and Kinango and Samburu in Kwale, saying that it will enable residents’ access government services.

President Kenyatta also hit out at those opposed to the standard gauge railway (SGR) saying that the new rail will spur industrial development and create jobs for youth.

“We, as Jubilee, have an agenda for Kenya as opposed to our competitors who have no agenda but to insult me,” said President Kenyatta, adding that he will not lose sleep over insults.
