Alfred Mutua Leads Wavinya Ndeti in Machakos Governor Race

Incumbent Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Nganga Mutua of Maendeleo Chap Chap has a commanding lead in the race to defend his seat. 

Mutua has 204,148 votes (53.31 percent), with 1,117 out of 1,332 poling station tallied. His closest rival, Wiper Democratic Movement's Wavinya Ndeti comes in second with 170,252 votes (44.46 percent), while Muia Jeremiah Lemi of Jubilee Party is third with 5,383 votes (1.41%)

Independent candidate Benard Muia Kiala, who stepped out of the race a week ago has 3,150 votes (0.82%).

Mutua is backing President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election.
