Kenyans Watch as President Uhuru Walks in the Streets of Nairobi

There was a stir in the streets of Nairobi on Wednesday morning after President Uhuru Kenyatta walked from his Harambee House office to the National Treasury offices.

The president was escorted by his security team and a number of government officials, with some Kenyans managing to get a handshake from him.

Kenyans stopped to watch the President as he walked along Harambee Avenue. It is rare to spot the president walk in the streets, as he mostly moves from one place to another in a huge convoy of cars.

"Walking to National Treasury from my office at Harambee House for a meeting with the economic team," the President posted in his Facebook page.

The President held a consultative meeting with his economic advisory team at the National Treasury in one of several economic consultations discussions in recent weeks ahead of his second term in office.

President Uhuru is scheduled to outline his economic plan for the country in the next five years during his swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.

This was his third economic consultative meeting since he was declared winner of the October 26th repeat presidential election. In the last two meetings, the president was briefed on energy and water sectors.

On Monday, six Supreme Court judges unanimously dismissed two petitions challenging October 26th election and upheld President Uhuru's re-election.
