Nyeri MCA Dies Moments after Addressing Jamhuri Day Gathering
A Member of Nyeri County Assembly (MCA), Peter Weru has passed on. Weru, the Ruguru Ward Representative collapsed minutes after he addressed a Jamhuri Day gathering at Ndundu-ini Primary School in Mathira constituency, Nyeri County on Tuesday.
He was first taken to Jamii hospital before being transferred to Outspan Hospital in Nyeri, where he was pronounced dead moments after arriving. Dr Jeff Muigai, the medical officer in charge at the facility said Weru died from a heart attack.
While confirming his death, Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga sent his condolences to his family, friends and constituents, noting that his demise a huge loss to the people of Ruguru.
