Wiper Democratic Party has rubbished reports in a section of local media claiming that its leader Kalonzo Musyoka has plans to join the National Assembly before 2022 general elections.
The reports alleged that Musyoka was keen to maintain political relevance ahead of the next general election, by finding himself a Parliamentary seat through a bye election.
However, in a statement on Sunday, the Wiper party termed the reports as “baseless, unfortunate and demeaning” to Musyoka.
Wiper Deputy Secretary-General Peter Mathuki said Kalonzo is at the paying special focus on his presidential bid in the 2022 polls.
“Wiper Democratic Party members are all saddened by this article whose purpose is to kill their morale and demean their party leader, Mr Kalonzo Musyoka,” Mr Mathuki said.
The article published by Sunday Nation claimed that leaders drawn from Ukambani were keen to have Musyoka in Parliament after fears that remaining in political cold in the next five years would undermine his state house bid in 2022.
It further alleged that the demise of Kitui West Member of Parliament Francis Nyenze presented an opportunity for Musyoka to return to the August house. However, his party described the reported as a falsehood and misleading.
“Mr Musyoka does not come from Kitui West, therefore this is a misplaced impression,” said Mr Mathuki.
Kalonzo looks tired, depressed, low-energy & sick. Being a flower girl for a loser is not a joke. Kalonzo you better go back to Germany and take care of you sick wife. Hii mambo ya throwing stone haikupeleki vizuri
