Mount Kenya Region Will Rally Behind Ruto in 2022, MP Moses Kuria Assures

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has assured Deputy President William Ruto that Mount Kenya region will back his 2022 state house ambition.

Speaking in Eldoret on Monday, Kuria dismissed claims that the region will abandon Ruto and back their own to succeed president Kenyatta.

“We have had the very difficult year 2017 politically but we thank God that its over and we will not have the same problems in Kenyan again this year,” he said when he joined residents in Eldoret to usher in the new year.

“On behalf of the people of Mt Kenya, I want to thank you for the support you gave President Uhuru in two elections last year. We guarantee the DP Ruto our support in 2022. Our support for him is like a cheque that we have already written and signed ready for banking”, Kuria said.

The MP said that the vote rich area has resolved to keep its word of rallying behind Ruto as Jubilee's flag bearer in the next election. “That political cheque for DP Ruto is already written and I am the one keeping it safe for him,” Kuria said.

He criticised opposition National Super Alliance's push for secession saying: “Instead of fighting for national unity, they are now talking of secession and resistance. That will not work for them but if they want they can go ahead and do so."

Kuria accompanied Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and more than 10 MPs from the North Rift in the event. The leaders called for unity and peace in the New Year.

Can't the country forget elections for just a little while ? People do not eat elections, people do not live elections. People need development and can surely live development. The elect leaders to lead them into development and prosperity but Kenyan politicians want elections to be everything, every time and all the time. You have all been infected by the Raila virus and this is very sad indeed.
