NASA Announces Suspension of People's Assembly Process

National Super Alliance (Nasa) has announced it has suspended the People’s Assembly process following last Friday unity pact between President Kenyatta and Opposition supremo Raila Odinga.

Speaking during a media briefing in Nairobi on Monday, People’s Assembly steering committee chairperson David Ndii, said the decision to suspend the operations of the body was informed by need to give the country an opportunity to unify.

Ndii commended President Kenyatta and Odinga for recognising that the country was facing a unity crisis, hence the need to initiate the process of national healing.

“We commend and congratulate the two leaders for this meeting of minds because we have not had leaders in the past come to this meeting of minds and tell the nation that this (tribalism) is a fundamental problem we have in this nation,” he said.

He added: “The two leaders have asked us to give them an opportunity to spearhead this process and we have accepted. We are therefore in this spirit suspending the people’s assembly process.”

Ndii was flanked by other People's Assembly committee members Judy Sijeny, Hamida Kibwana, Dr. Mutakha Kangu, Dr. Oduor Ong’wen, Koitamet Olekina and Peter Mathuki.

I read someone/nasariots trying to take the credit for initiating 'peace'. I am sorry to say you didn't; you simply "EXHAUSTED all the legal channels, as advised by Uhuru, and then brought yourselves to the table and succumbed.

JustMe, kabisa! I second. They behaved like a baby throwing a tantrum, crying, throwing their toys of out of their pram to get attention, then when they didn't get the attention they desired, sulked and sucked their thumb, and when that got ignored too, they got silent and waited for daddy to pay attention. Daddy did and lesson learnt! I once said here when Odinga was throwing tantrums that Ukimwacha mtoto akutawale, nyumba yako itateketea! Uhuru ignored the hell of out them as they tried to unhinge him in every way. Nasty Judases!

This is a blessing in disguise, a free tuition on how to conduct ourselves. We have learnt the impact of the wisdom of staying silent even when your competitor decides to annoyingly nag you. Uhuru’s behavior is worth emulating. NASA has exhausted their options and lastly decided to stay relevant by doing the only thing remaining. If you can’t beat them, join them. I hope the Ndiis and Migunas have learnt to change their unwise behavior of chest-thumping.
