Government Rubbishes Rumors of Retired President Moi's Death

The government has rubbished reports doing rounds in the internet that retired President Daniel Moi had passed on.

In a statement on Wednesday, Foreign Affairs Ministry dismissed the reports as fake news, stating that the retired president is doing well.

“We are forced to clarify that the FAKE news maliciously circulated by some individuals regarding the wellbeing of former President Daniel Arap Moi is completely untrue," the ambassador Monica Juma-led Ministry said in a press statement.

“H.E. the former President is in Tel-Aviv, Israel, for a routine medical check-up that has been very successful. H.E. the former President is recuperating well and is in very good health."

“He will be sightseeing today and he takes this opportunity to wish all his fellow Kenyans well. We hope that this information will put to rest any unfortunate ill-intended rumours.”

On Wednesday, Moi's spokesman, Lee Njiru said he is expected to return to the country soon.

“The former president is in high spirits, hearty and expected home soon. So far he is steady, robust and is responding very well to treatment,” Njiru said in a statement.

Moi was flown to Israel on Sunday for a check up on his knee, which has been troubling him. He is admitted at a facility in Tel Aviv city. He traveled with his personal doctor, David Silverstein and his son, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

You seem hurt @Guest1. Insulting others and assuming your wisdom only brings out you foolishness.
