Wiper, ANC and Ford Kenya MPs Dare ODM to Ditch NASA

A section of Members of Parliament drawn from Wiper, ANC and Ford Kenya parties have dared Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party to leave National Super Alliance (Nasa) if they are not ready to incorporate them in the talks with President Kenyatta.

Addressing a joint press briefing at Panafric hotel in Nairobi on Thursday, the MPs led by Ayub Savula (Lugari) demanded the coalition leadership to call for an urgent parliamentary group meeting to explain the nature of agreement reached between Raila Odinga and President Uhuru.

The MPs further said that Wiper, ANC and Ford Kenya were ready to function as the opposition, if ODM partners with Jubilee.

“In case ODM engages Jubilee in a partnership that is between ODM and Jubilee and in case ODM is swallowed in this arrangement, we are ready to take over the leadership of the opposition in the country,” threatened the leaders.

“In case ODM gets married to Jubilee, we will divorce them and remain in Nasa,” said Savula.

“We are ready to take up the role as the official opposition in this country, and this is will be the last resort, we have talked and agreed.”

They also accused ODM of belittling other parties in the coalition, even as they assured of their stay in Nasa.

“We are not walking out of Nasa, we are the owners of Nasa. We are against ODM belittling other partner parties in NASA,” noted Savula.

“ODM can walk away if they want to walk away. We will remain with NASA and build NASA to take over the presidency in 2022.”

On Wednesday, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said together with co-principals Moses Wetang'ula and Musalia Mudavadi will seek an appointment with the Head of State once he returns to the country from Cuba.
