State House Director of Diaspora Communication Dennis Itumbi Speaks on Reports of Being Fired by President Uhuru

State House Director of Digital and Diaspora Communication Dennis Itumbi has responded to claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta has fired his team.

On Monday, reports claimed that Itumbi and other members of the Presidential Service Communication Unit (PSCU) had been kicked out of the State House.

Business Today reported that the team had been redeployed to Deputy President William Ruto’s office at Harambee Annex. The news outlet claimed that Munyori Buku (public communications), Eric Ng’eno (messaging), James Kinyua (branding and events), Munira Mohammed and Itumbi had been stripped off their roles at State House.

However, in a philosophical response, Itumbi told Nairobi News: “When you park your car in West Pokot and someone insists that you are in Mombasa, you don’t have to argue with them to try and convince them that you are in West Pokot."

“If there is any change, obviously you will see it on my page. I can’t comment on whether we have been chased out as you say. That’s just a rumor which the source can explain better,” Itumbi separately told Pulselive.

The reports further claimed that only State House spokesman Manaoh Esipisu survived the axe.
