Governor Mike Sonko Holds Cabinet Meetings at His Rural Home after Fleeing Nairobi

Governor Mike Sonko is now running Nairobi from his rural home in Mua Hills, Machakos County for what he says is over fear for his life.

The move comes after the government reduced his bodyguards from 26 to 5 last week, in the ongoing mass withdrawal of police officers attached to VIPs.

The Star reports that Governor Sonko held his first Cabinet meeting at his residence in Machakos on Monday and a second one on Tuesday.

Photos of Sonko and his team emerged after the Monday meeting. A CEC said the Governor summoned them to Machakos for a meeting on Sunday evening.

“We don't know, but the governor asked us to be here,” he told the Star.

On Friday, Sonko said he had retreated to his Mua Hills home, where he feels 'a bit safe' after alleged attempts on his life. The Governor said that trouble begun after he called Nairobi police boss to inform him that he was being trailed.

"My troubles started when I called Nairobi police boss Mr Kamwende and told him I want to write a statement against this one man who has threatened to eliminate me," Sonko said.

"I have to cut down on my movements. This is a serious threat to my life because of this one man and his cartels," the governor added.

Kumira Kumira gave Nairobi this idiot. Does he mean kumira kumira want to kill him? The angle of death goes even to his Maua Hill castle

Sonko, you are clearly becoming a drama queen. Miguna should come and rescue you from the perceived bondage you are currently undergoing ...all playing out in your head. You may not be qualified to play in the big league with big boys(aka cartels) but please try because Nairobians elected you to take them for a ride next 5yrs. You do not need 26 people around you to do your work and please, do not force people to travel long distances on unsafe roads to come see you. It is not in their contract.Miguna to the rescue now😁😁.

The IEBC is responsible for the mess that we are experiencing in Kenya. Wafula Chebukati cleared about 90% of candidates with a shady past run for an elective public office. Some of them should be in Maximum Kamiti Prison jailed for life.

Shame on you Wafual! You must have received millions of shillings in bribery to clear them to the misinformed voters.
