Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two suspected kidnappers in Nairobi.

The two suspects have been identified as 27-year-old Elizabeth Waithera Kibanya from Nyandarua and 34-year-old Lawrence Kibanya Mwangi from Nyeri County.

The two are accused of abducting a woman and violently robbing her thousands of shillings before dumping her in a bush.

The DCI says the man and woman were arrested while driving a Toyota Allion car, which is suspected to have been stolen from the owner.
