Robbers Break into Three Barclays Bank ATMs in Nairobi, Steal Over Sh10 Million

Detectives in Nairobi have launched investigations into a series of ATM robberies in the past three days.

The Daily Nation and The Star report that more than Sh10 million has been stolen from three Barclays Bank ATMs in different parts of the city in what appears to be an organized theft ring.

The three ATMs are located at Mutindwa in Buruburu, Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and at The Mater Hospital in South B.

Sh6.29 million was reportedly stolen at Mutindwa ATM, Sh4.3 million at KNH's and Sh1 million at the South B machine.

Police say investigators found no surveillance camera at the Mutindwa ATM, which was also unmanned at the time of the robbery.

CCTV camera at South B's machine was allegedly smeared with petroleum jelly which blurred the footage.
