CS Matiang’i Dispels Claims of Divisions in President Uhuru’s Cabinet

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i says there are no divisions in President Kenyatta's Cabinet as alleged by some leaders.
Speaking on Friday, Matiang'i said claims that the Cabinet was split were false, stating that all CSs are in a good working relationship.
“You may have heard that we are not working together in the Cabinet but don’t listen to anyone who has time to waste,” he said.
Matiang'i, who spoke at the burial of ICT CS Joe Mucheru’s grandmother in Nyeri on Friday, said the Cabinet was united towards a common goal- delivering government's development agenda.
His sentiments were echoed by Transport and Infrastructure CS James Macharia.
Leaders from across the political divide have been pressuring President Uhuru to disband his Cabinet following allegations that some CSs were involved in the alleged plot to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
CSs James Macharia, Peter Munya (Trade), Joe Mucheru (ICT) and Sicily Kariuki (Health) are alleged to have attended a series of meeting at La Mada Hotel in Nairobi, where Ruto's murder was allegedly discussed.
Details of the alleged plot to eliminate Ruto were contained in a letter, which has since been found to be fake by detectives investigating the matter.
Investigators reportedly established that the letter was authored at a cyber cafe in Nairobi’s Lang’ata estate.
Jubilee Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi was later arrested and arraigned in court over links to the document. He was released on Sh100,000 cash bail.
