7 Suspected Criminals Killed in Shootout with DCI Detectives

Seven suspected gangsters were on Thursday morning killed during a fierce shootout with detectives from the Special Service Unit (SSU) in Isinya, Kajiado County.

The slain suspects were aboard a Toyota Fielder vehicle of registration KCB 583L when they were flagged down by police in Nairobi but declined to stop, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The detectives trailed them from Nairobi to Isinya before a serious exchange of fire ensued with the officers gunning down all the seven occupants of the car.

An AK47 firearm loaded with three bullets, a police communication gadget, two Kenya police jungle jackets, a beret, seven mobile phones, and a metal rod were recovered from the vehicle. Identity Cards that did not belong to any of the suspects were also found.

Police said the suspects were behind a series of robberies carried out in Nairobi, Mlolongo, Kitengela, Isinya and other areas neighboring the city. They are believed to have been on a robbery mission before police caught up with them.

Their bodies were moved to City Mortuary and the rifle was taken for ballistic inspection at Nairobi.

This is what they should be doing to Alshabab guys. They are more deleterious than the local criminals toting only one Ak47 with three bullets!
