Kalonzo Musyoka Contributes Sh3 Million to Kenya's Covid-19 Response Kitty

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has contributed Sh3 million to Kenya’s Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund. Musyoka made a contribution to the kitty that has so far received a total of Sh2.7 billion.

He presented a check of Sh3 million and 10 tons of foodstuffs to the Covid-19 Emergency Fund Board at the Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) in Nairobi on Thursday, April 30th. The food items will be distributed to vulnerable families.

"Always be mindful of the need to remain transparent we are happy this team is composed of captains of industry, because as we face up to this challenge its important Kenyans are kept informed of what is happening and want to see transparency especially this time we are faced by this tremendous challenge," Musyoka said.

The donation was made through Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation and was received by Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) CEO Jane Karuku, who is chairing the Covid19 Response Fund Board.

On Wednesday, April 29th, Equity Group CEO James Mwangi gave a personal donation of Sh300 million—the highest by an individual. He said the money will be spent on the acquisition of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers caring for Covid-19 patients.

His donation dwarfed contributions made by corporate giants; Safaricom and KCB Group which donated Sh200 million and Sh150 million respectively.

When are these new well wishers going to contribute to a kitty to pay off Chinese loans?
Chinese loans are more of a threat in Kenya than Covid-19. Those loans, shameful grants, gifts and donations are a source of humiliation and shame for our country for us and posterity!!
