ODM Dispels Reports that Raila Has Been Flown Abroad for Cancer Treatment

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has dispelled reports that its leader Raila Odinga is ailing and admitted to a hospital abroad.

Reports circulated on social media on Monday alleged that Odinga was flown to China on Sunday for cancer treatment. It was alleged that he traveled alongside his daughter Winnie Odinga and another male.

ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale dismissed the reports as false, saying Odinga is presently in DR Congo in his capacity as African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development.

“Ignore the FAKE NEWS. It is the work of sick people who have run out of ideas. HE Raila Odinga is currently in Kinshasa, DRC in his capacity as the AU High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa for the virtual Pan African Conference on the Grand Inga Dam. The project aims to unlock the world’s largest hydropower scheme in Africa,” Etale said through Twitter on Monday.

"The project aims to unlock the world's largest hydropower scheme and is part of the vision to develop a continental power system that is key to Africa’s manufacturing and value addition ambitions," he added.

According to some tribalists (Chris) on this site, we should all get rich and go abroad for treatment. As long as you come from an approved tribe (not a son or daughter of Mumbi or any affiliated Mt. Kenya groups, that is acceptable. For those who refuse to confront the past, what is happening in the US has everything to do with the past. Kenyatta, Odinga, Oyugi, Moi, Biwott etc thievery and brutality will continue to haunt us.

Rumour mongering! Raila is like no other when it comes to health. I for one has bemoaned (right here at Mwakilishi) how envious I am of Raila's skin, upright gait, to mention but a few things. Just look at that plumb facial skin... I am sure the plastic surgeons in America would pay a lot to know what is behind this ever plumb skin! His ears don't elongate as most aging people's do! Iko nini baba Raila? Waambie wameze wembe, the day is still young as far as you are concerned...ha, ha, ha!

@Mkenya halisi, and how will his demise enrich you or those who have passed? Just curious kaka. I have noted something in this world....the bad or those we consider evil live forever, whilst those we consider kind, loving and saints die young and untimely. Maajabu….
