Missing National Lands Commission Official Found Murdered, Body Dumped in Ngong' Forest

Missing National Lands Commission (NLC) Deputy Director of Communication Jennifer Wambua has been found murdered.

Police found her lifeless body dumped in Ngong’ Forest on Saturday and took it to City Mortuary, where it was positively identified by her husband on Monday.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was strangled to death before the perpetrators dumped her body in the forest.

Jennifer, a former journalist, disappeared on Friday hours after her husband Joseph Komu dropped her at her office based at ACK Annex adjacent to Ardhi House.

Her unusual silence on that day made Komu suspicious, prompting him to call her but the phone went unanswered.

“We speak to each other regularly so I called her at 10 am, but she did not answer my calls. I figured that she could be busy or in meetings,” Komu said.

Komu later took his car to a garage to be fixed only to find Jennifer’s belongings, including handbag, mobile phone, and packed lunch in the car’s boot.

He drove back to NLC offices only to find that his wife was not at work, her office was locked and none of her colleagues was aware of her whereabouts. He rushed home but she was not there.

“CCTV footage shows that she entered her fourth-floor office and later left carrying her handbag, an hour later,” Komu said.

He added: “It appears she was either kidnapped at the parking lot after she opened the car and put the handbag containing her mobile phone, or she willingly dropped her items at the car.”

It emerged that Jennifer and her husband, who reported her disappearance at Capitol Hill police station, shared the car and both had keys to the car. Komu works at the Ministry of Agriculture at Kilimo House, a walking distance from Jennifer’s workplace.

Jennifer was a key State witness in several corruption cases and was due to testify in one on Tuesday, according to family lawyer Daniel Maanzo.

The story does not add up. The husband might have a hand on her murder. If she left the office one hour later guessing it is around 9.00 am she most likely not go with her packed lunch to the car.

@ Kenya,of course, the husband is usually one of the first suspects when a spouses disappears. But from what you have said is not enough to heighten the suspicion in my opinion.See, she may have just taken the handbag upstairs with her, planning to join someone later for lunch,or eat it alone somewhere outside the office;like down stairs from 4th floor.
Anyway, one cannot tell much,or point out who the suspect is from what is given in the post here.

When you fight corruption in Kenya you make enemies. No wonder it is now the status quo. This story is very fishy, but poor woman. No one deserves this.

Ask DP Ruto! He is the one with stolen pieces of land cases pending including Weston hotel. The master of corruption eliminates those who rub him wrong!

I still wonder why Kenyans condone this kind of stuff from politicians! This is enough for Kenyans to tear the political class who are killing Kenyans over land deals and run them past the Indian Ocean! Numbers matter when taking a revenge against the rouge idiots within the system! Don’t tell to keep peace and Oder when you killing us in abroad day light!

Especially the one she was supposed to testify on on Tuesday. those are the primary suspects. Until we have a better job carrying out unbiased crime investigation, these murderers will always pull up something since they know a powerful godfather somewhere in the government.

The day mankind will have figured out why some people kill without compunction is the day humanity ought to take a day off and celebrate this mile stone achievement.
Despite the observable, and practical advancement in all facets of life, humans have made, when it comes to interpersonal relationships we tend to still linger on the primitive side.Take this murdered woman for example.By all accounts we know so far, someone killed her to silence her.So that she would not divulge damaging testimony to some powerful corrupt individuals. My two cents.

DP Ruto have regularly killed innocent Kenyans and evidently gotten away with those murders! There is a cover up in the government system that must be cleaned up! We are getting tired of these murderers!

Watch the husband. From experience, the first suspect to be investigated and cleared is the spouse. What did Wahenga say, "Kikulacho ki nguoni mkako". Of course looking into other suspects would suffice, but First, clear the husband.
