Ruto to Launch Affordable Housing Project in Kirinyaga

President William Ruto is scheduled to visit Kirinyaga County on Tuesday to initiate the commencement of a housing project and also inaugurate Kerugoya General Hospital.

Last month, Kirinyaga County demolished old buildings belonging to the now-defunct County Council of Kirinyaga to pave the way for the housing program in Kerugoya. State House Press Secretary Emmanuel Talam had said the President will be present in Kirinyaga. Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru stated that the newly built hospital (Kerugoya general hospital) will offer specialized medical services to Kirinyaga residents.

"The county government has built a modern hospital at Kerogoya which will improve health services in the county. The date for the launch has been set and confirmed," Waiguru said.

The governor reported that the 356-bed facility will reduce inpatient congestion at the hospital, elevating it from a level 4 hospital to a level 5. According to the governor, the development makes medical services more accessible to the locals, so they no longer need to travel long distances to receive treatment. Gatanga MP Edward Muriu had earlier announced that the Head of State will traverse across the Mount Kenya region, inaugurating a series of mega projects. He lauded the Kenya Kwanza government's efforts to improve the livelihoods of the citizens by stimulating their economic activities.

The housing project is a main focus that has received the utmost attention from President Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua. The MP points out that Kenya faces a serious housing deficit which has seen many unable to afford or get access to a proper home. The President is accompanied by several leaders including Rigathi Gachagua (Deputy President), Kimani Ichung'wa (Kikuyu MP), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu MP), and Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang'wa.

These housing projects will create overnight millionaires in the well-connected and also in the political class. Companies that sell hardware such as cement, ballast, electrical wiring etc will crop up in a jiffy and before you know it, the already rich political thieves will even be richer and you!, you poor Kenyan who voted for them will not be able to afford a packet of sugar or unga.

Nothing will come out of these two politicians with mega thieving habits. I can only hope the Kirinyaga people will keep a close eye on them.
