President Ruto Calls for Moderate Christmas Celebrations

On Christmas Day, President William Ruto urged Kenyans to celebrate the festive season with moderation and restraint in order to uphold public order.

Speaking at a Christmas service in Olpisiai, Narok County, Ruto highlighted the importance of protecting loved ones during the holidays and fostering the communal bonds that are vital for societal cohesion. Ruto emphasized the pivotal role of families in nurturing the youth, whom he identified as the foundation for a brighter future.

He called for greater mentorship and guidance for young people, asserting that building strong family units is essential for long-term nation-building. This message followed Ruto's Christmas address to the nation on December 24, where he commended the hard work and dedication of citizens in advancing the country’s development and unity.

He acknowledged the significant progress being made towards establishing a more secure and prosperous Kenya. In his address, Ruto recognized health workers as crucial protectors of national well-being, underscoring their role in fostering a healthier future. He advocated for affordable housing, positioning it as a key driver of economic growth.

“In constructing these homes, we are building lasting hope for Kenyan families,” he stated, emphasizing that each completed project contributes to the nation's progression towards dignity and inclusivity.

Furthermore, President Ruto reiterated his administration's ambitious goal to plant 15 billion trees by 2032, aiming to augment Kenya's forest coverage to 30 per cent. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance environmental sustainability and mitigate the effects of climate change.
