Kenyan-born British racing cyclist Chris Froome has been blocked from contesting in the upcoming Tour de France.
Le Monde reports that organisers of the race had blocked four-time champion, but Froome is expected to challenge the decision.
The 33-year-old has found himself on the receiving end ever since he tested positive twice for permissible amount of asthma drug Salbutamol during last year's Vuelta a Espana, which he won.
Team Sky said they are "confident that Chris will be riding the Tour as we know he has done nothing wrong."
The French National Olympic and Sports Committee is on Tuesday expected to make a ruling on the organizers' decision to block Chris from the race.
Froome is free to ride until the anti-doping tribunal of the International Cycling Union make a final decision regarding his case.
If Froome wins this year's contest, he will become the second racing cyclist after Belgium's Eddy Merckx to win four straight Tours.
