Anne Waiguru Helps Raise Sh52 Million in Two Days for President Uhuru Campaigns

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru says that she has helped raise in two days Sh51.9 million that will be used to conduct campaigns for President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election.

The county boss said that the cash will be used to conduct roadside rallies to mobilize voters in the region to turn out in large numbers and vote for Uhuru in the repeat election.

Waiguru thanked locals leaders led Members of the County Assembly and MPs for contributing generously towards the course.

“We have sacrificed ourselves to raise this amount because we want the campaigns for our President in this region to be successful,” she told Jubilee supporters at Sifa Gardens in Kutus on Tuesday.

“We are taking these campaigns seriously and every resident should know that.”

She praised the unity exhibited by Kirinyaga leaders, who were political rivals before the August 8th general election.

“Who would have imagined that my predecessor, Joseph Ndathi and former Kirinyaga Central MP, Gachoki Gitari and myself would come together for a common purpose?” she posed.

“This time we want to make sure that almost all the voters go to their respective polling stations to vote for the Head of State. We are working day and night to deliver as many votes as possible,” she said.

Out of the 351,000 registered voters in Kirinyaga County, 48,000 did not vote in the August 8th polls.

Waiguru I like u but this one is idiotic. If u did the same to yr county as a governor then u dig boreholes to give kirinyaga clean water or empower youth by them borrowing the 52m via sacks then u could have done a mature n right thing but fundraising for campaign not sensible.Thats how kenyas tunabebwagwa wanna na this politicians

Living up to your name. Waiguru may mean "gift from God" or "of the high or above" like an eagle you were "raised" to soar up in the sky not to fly like a chicken.
