I’m Not Resigning, Says IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati has ruled out chances of him resigning despite pressure mounted on him regarding the October 26th repeat presidential election.

Chebukati further dismissed claims that the commission was split, saying that the commissioners remain united despite difference in opinions on different issues.

"There may be differences of opinion but the commission is united and committed to deliver a credible, free and fair elections," he said.

Speaking in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu, during a training session for electoral officials, Chebukati noted that the commission will stay intact and deliver the election as required of them.

He further rubbished reports that he stormed out of meetings with his colleagues because of disagreements.

On Friday, Commissioner Roselyn Akombe said the commission had made "radical changes" "to ensure it delivers a free, fair and credible presidential rerun,".

Chebukati assured the October 26th election will go on as planned, adding that Raila, who withdrew from the race together with his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, will be on the ballot.

"We have not received any other communication from him so we are proceeding with all plans as scheduled." Chebukati said regarding Raila's withdrawal, where IEBC advised he signs form 24A to officially bow out of the race.

He said the commission does not foresee a situation where the opposition will block elections in its strongholds.

"Our mandate is on elections and we are ready in all areas. There are institutions to ensure we do our work smoothly."

Why should Chebukati resign? RAO is a pathic loser who has already shot himself and has already dug his own grave. He is inside the grave diging deeper and cannot find a way out. So,what would Chebukati gain from a pathological nincompoop who is the Lord of political hooligans. None of the IEBC Commissioners has anything to gain by resigning. Mambo bado!

Only in Kenya would such an incompetent, inefficient, and corrupt leader be allowed to head this joint again especially after the mess that he caused on August 8.

Chebukati, you are not indispensable! Can you tell us how Chris Msando died? Why can't you demand Ndegwa Muhoro (CID) do his job and tell us who killed Msando!

No one asked for your resignation rather it appears you are not capable of conducting a free and fair election thus instead of changing or being responsive to the electorate you bury your head in the sand like an ostrich and stay put. Only in Kenya

It was one of muuaji Raila's secret plans to bribe Chebukati and pay him all he was to earn in his contract. But there is nothing to hide between multiple thugs.Everything became public the second day of the agreement but i am afraid MWAKILISHI just ignored when i wrote about the matter.
