Kalonzo: US Ambassador Robert Godec Didn't Back President Kenyatta
National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka says that United States Ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec has denied throwing his weight behind President Kenyatta, contrary to reports on local media.
Speaking in Machakos on Saturday, the Wiper party leader said the diplomat dismissed claims that he had backed President Kenyatta's calls for the country and Kenyans to move on and focus on development after the disputed 2017 presidential election.
“I have just talked to American ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec at Robert Mbui’s residence and he refuted claims appearing in sections of the media today,” Kalonzo said.
“The election is finished and it is time the country moved forward by strengthening economic growth and development,” a local newspaper quoted Godec as saying when he made a courtesy call to Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka at Parliament Buildings.
Kalonzo further told President Kenyatta that he must agree to dialogue with NASA in order to end impending political impasse.
“You cannot run away from dialogue it must be serious, genuine, structured dialogue because electoral justice must be achieved in this country,’ said Kalonzo.
He appealed to the head of state to reach out to opposition leader Raila Odinga or himself in order to unite the deeply divided country, stating that its his responsibility as President.
“The country is headed in the wrong direction and they (government leaders) should not threaten us with treason charges because we must fight for what is just,” said Kalonzo.
“I have travelled vastly and I have been a mediator in warring countries like South Sudan, Somalia, Burundi. I have observed that Kenya has the toppings of a country that is almost in conflict,” added Kalonzo.

Kalonzo, you are a lawyer, where is dialogue provided for in our constitution. Which constitution are you following? The supreme court already ruled and your partner Raila withdrew from the race. Why the side shows. Why not go to parliament and state your case. You are slowly becoming an enemy of Kenya by working to derail the development agenda of the current government. You and your partner have become a joke. Initially, you were to be inaugurated the same day as President Uhuru, then to December 12, then before the end of the year, then to January 30th, (not sure if it is. Jan 30th 2018 or. Jan 30th 2022). If you are talking about 2022, start addressing the Vice President, William Ruto, he may listen. Flip floppers or watermelons,cannot rule Kenya. People are tired of politics. You have even destroyed your chances in 2022.

Has anyone noticed the trend? The opposition has switched gears and are now fighting the American embassy staff together with the other international communities instead of jubilee or Uhuru-ruto. They have forgotten to fight for you and me. Most sections of the new constitution are yet to be put in place but then there are already calls for reforms on the same laws and by the same drafters. The reformation of any part of law should not be of private interest to those seeking it. It's not a personal matter between Muigai and Amolo. Parliament is where the changes or creation of new laws are made.
