Kenyan Woman Accused of Stealing Sh140 Million Faces Extradition to Dubai

Rebecca Musau, a Kenyan woman who was arrested on Wednesday in connection to the robbery of Sh140 million in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has been charged at the Milimani Court.
Ms Musau was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Bernard Nzakyo after being arrested on Wednesday at the border town of Namanga as she attempted to cross to Tanzania.
The prosecution pleaded with the court to allow police to detain her for 14 days to allow them complete investigations into the matter.
Prosecutor Lindsey Mugambi told the court that Inspector General of Police had received information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Ms Musau, alongside her accomplices, had escaped from Dubai after it was reported that the cash on transit had been stolen.
Police found Sh13 million after ransacking her new house in Nairobi's Ruai estate and she failed to explain the source of the cash.
The prosecution also said it will be seeking to have her extradited to Dubai, where she is wanted for the daring robbery that happened in March.
Judge Nzakyo declined to issue any orders sought by the prosecution as the accused person's lawyer was absent. The magistrate ordered she be remanded at Muthaiga Police Station for a night and her attorney be given access.
The matter will be heard on Friday July 6th.
Mweni, together with Charles Karanja who worked as a security guard, allegedly stole the money from a vehicle that was moving the cash to an ATM at a popular shopping mall in Dubai.
Karanja is said to have distracted his colleagues at the mall before fleeing with the money at around 10:30pm on March 2nd, 2018. Karanja was arrested two weeks later at an apartment in Al Nahda, Sharjah by Dubai police.

"Nyayo Mbaya." Do we really have to emulate our crooked leaders by doing exactly what they have done (stealing, raping, and killing) and gotten away with it for the past 55 years?
We need entirely new leadership in Kenya come 2022 in order to start all over again. We need to set a good example for our youngsters who can follow our "NYAYO NZURI" devoid of all bad things that have transpired since independence.
President Uhuru, please tell your deputy Mheshimiwa Dr. William Samoei Chichir Arap Ruto to calm down and stop going round the country campaigning for the 2022 presidency. We are so sick and tired of constant campaigners in our country.

Just thinking and doing some simple arithmetic here: If 140 Million Kshs were stolen and money was divided among 2 people lets say 70:30 ratio with Karanja taking the upper limit 80% because he orchestrated the whole plan and Miss Musau taking 20%. Miss Musau was arrested immediately upon entry to the country that means she didn't have time to deposit or hide the money. You wonna tell me kenya's Police are telling the truth that they found Kshs. 13 Million only? I absolutely do not believe that because in Kenya, the approach to the anti-corruption war is in itself a major source of another corruption.
