I've Lost Friends and I'm Ready to Lose More, President Kenyatta Declares

President Uhuru Kenyatta says that the spirited fight against impunity has cost him some of his closest friends in the past few weeks.

Addressing congregation at Faith Evangelistic Ministry church in Karen, Nairobi on Sunday, the President however said this will not stop the ongoing crackdown on illegal buildings. He vowed that not even the rich or politically connected individuals will be spared in the war on impunity.

“Over the last few weeks I have lost so many friends. I have received many calls being asked "how can you sit and just watch all this destruction going on. You must stop it." But i said, it is difficult to stop, not because we love to destroy but because we must fight impunity,” said Kenyatta.

“If we fail to fight impunity we will not achieve our dreams… A time has come for us to fight impunity, a time has come for every Kenyan to realise no matter how powerful you think you are or how much money you have… That will not save you.”

Kenyatta said he's ready to lose all friends if that is what it will take to tame corruption and disregard of the law.

“Let us lose our friends and do what is right in the eyes of God. We shall gain other friends as we move forward. Let us create a society that respects and treasures hard work and integrity, a nation with a conscience,” he said.

Thank you Mr. President, you have the power of the people and that is God's power. You did not take power to create friends but to rule over us with God's guidance. Pray and we will pray for you and do what you believe is right and what is needed to lead the nation. Do not look back and use all the power you have. If you do not use it, you loose it. May God's guidance be with you always. God help Kenya!!!

Kudos Mr president, don't mind losing friends in the fight against impunity that has overruled for years since independence. I assure you sir you are never alone in this journey, as a matter of fact you are adding more new friends on your radar than never before. I must admit you are my favourite president ever. I challenge to tame your deputy's evil desire for public properties. You will leave a legacy that has never been left by any sitting presidenta in the world.

Good job Uhunye. Now work on those Chinese and your DP who has been an expert in Thievery. Or maybe you are saving the best for last.

Wonder boy ready to loose what? How about we go back to 1963 and pursue all all corruption? Never mind how about we start now at KICC management? Stop theatrics and spectacles. Kenyans want a system not what appears like knee jerk reactions

If you sustain this war on corruption, all Kenyans will be proud of their motherland because corruption is even worse than colonialism that our forefathers fought for. Let this nation continue seeing the benefits of the handshake.Kenya belongs to all communities, rich and poor. Long live Kenya.

This is what happens when Amolo Tinga is in charge. When Jabuon was in charge and Kifaki was ceremonial president Kenya made big strides. Now that Jakwom is in charge again and the project is ceremonial president we are gain seeing a government that works!

work tirelessly Mr.president and let it be realistic even with illegally acquired lands in the post-colonial period ........there are large tracks of unoccupied land in Kenya yet many citizens are landless.
