Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero Arrested over Sh68 Million Graft Allegations

Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero was on Friday morning arrested over graft allegations.
Kidero has been arrested in Nairobi by detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) over alleged irregular payment of Sh68 million by Nairobi County government to a law firm identified as M/s Wachira Mburu; Mwangi & Company Advocates.
“The DPP has directed that the suspects be arraigned in court and prosecuted,” the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution says in a statement.
Kidero has been arrested alongside John Ndirangu Kariuki (former Nairobi Mayor), Paul Mutunga Mutungi (former councilor) and George Wainaina Njogu (former Nairobi County Government Chief of Staff).
The suspects are set to be charged with abuse of office, conspiracy to commit the offense of corruption, money laundering, and unlawful acquisition of public property among others.
DPP Noordin Haji says there is sufficient evidence to support criminal charges against Kidero and the other suspects.

What you're suggesting is getting none or all. Technically you're supporting corruption. Any independent DPP only initiate prosecution when they've evidence that can win a conviction.

So there is sufficient evidence to bring charges?.Let's hope that these evidence will also be sufficient enough to throw them in jail and reclaim the stolen wealth plus the interest generated. Now the bigger question is,do we have faith in the integrity of our judicial system to deliver justice?

We know how the story ends,Kidero will buy his freedom out of the courts as usual! Our institutions are controlled by cash! Anyway, I've always said there comes a time when money can't help you cover your past mistakes! That's when you're dying of cancer, seated on a wooden chair infront of a t.v which is turned on but you're really staring at the ceiling wondering how you gonna die!

Another corrupt politician. Nothing doing here. Keep an eye on the case. It will go nowhere. Just a huge announcement in the media and the guy is released to steal more and eat his ill gained money. History tells us this is just a gimmick like hundreds others. The guy has stolen billions of wananchi money. None of these corrupt public officials have anything to fear from the graft police. Gimmicks and gimmicks everyday. We want results no pronouncements. Gimmicks. Oh, don't forget the killer governor is out and back to his job. What a country. To be continued.

Corruption is a complex web and multifaceted evil and so cherry picking of cases or singular approach will not match the spread or entrenchment of the vice. As genius Al said "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them." Corruption cannot be uprooted with the complacency that created it. It cannot be decimated by the same sluggishness and wish washy attitude that permitted it. It will need unconventional methods, shock and awe, rushing the culprits and even possibly declare it a national disaster for 6 months to expedite the cases and stop farther bleeding from the scourge of institutionalized corruption and theft.

What Kenya needs is a Jury system (old traditional system before imperialism and colonialism) and God's law- ten commandments enforced by God's soldiers and representatives when time is ripe.
People are tired of crying about corruption in the country without an inch of improvement. Man's laws have proved futile because of self- interest. The public under God's law need to displine a few and everything else will be in order. God's order, not man's.

100% agreeable with this observation. Even the boy in state house knows this is a crazy web he allowed to flourish when he let a few dogs out at the beginning of his tenure. Lord have mercy and hope this idea one time becomes a reality.
