MP Babu Owino is a Good Man and is Supporting My Son, DJ Evolve’s Dad Says

John Orinda, the father to DJ Evolve, has come to the defense of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino amid backlash from Kenyans online.

Addressing the media on Thursday, Mr. Orinda described MP Owino as a “good man” despite the fact that he nearly shot dead his son in January this year.

He stated that the first-time MP has been in constant communication with the family following the shooting incident that left DJ Evolve paralyzed and unable to do anything by himself.

Evolve spent six months at the Nairobi Hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries and was discharged two weeks ago to recuperate at home.

Mr. Orinda said MP Owino has been supportive and is catering for all medical expenses incurred by his son including purchasing drugs and paying nurses.

“Vile aliingia kwa nyumba naona iko improvement na iko dawa analetewa, yule anayeleta hizo dawa ni Babu Owino. Nurses wako naye mchana na usiku na hao pia ni Babu Owino aliprovide. Naona kama Babu Owino si mtu mbaya sana ingawa hatujakutana naye tuongee lakini hajapotea,” he said.

Babu is accused of shooting the entertainer on the neck at B-Club in Kilimani, Nairobi on January 17th. He was charged with attempted murder and was freed on Sh5 million after pleading not guilty.

Dj Evolve father knows the Kenyan government will protect Babu Owino. He’s not a fool.

Why fight with a politician that works for a government that protects and love bombs murderers?

We want secession.

If Dj Evolve family and friends want justice, they need to hire goons to go after Babu Owino.

The Kenyan government protects all government employees who are thieves and murderers.

It’s a demonic cult .

Am sorry in this case: God forgives I don't. There is no amount of blood money enough for me to start kissing this criminal's ass. Mr. Orinda, it is your prerogative, do whatever you want. Please don't embarrass yourself and the good people. There is nothing nice about this criminal. This was attempted murder, a felony. This nutcase is a criminal and should be treated as such. There is no redeeming value as far as I can see. He spews too much BS on a daily basis. This was attempted murder. Your son will never be the same again. Tons of these crooks are buying off the judiciary. You can bet your ass this crook bought his way out of this attempted murder. That is our Kenya. Money talks and the justice is for sale, and so it goes. Wake up good people!!!!!!

As a father, I can't imagine what you have gone through due to your son's tragedy. But you should also remember that if the "good man" didn't shoot your son, your son wouldn't need his help. Good men don't go around trotting guns and shooting at people.

This is what most Kenyan men have been reduced to. Weak, cowardly losers who will justify anything while allowing people like Babu Owino free reign to do whatever they like. You can't even stand up for your own son? Excuses and excuses........meanwhile your wives and kids languish in poverty and misery and you can go home and call yourself a man!! One day hopefully a new generation will rise up and bring an end to this madness. Can't wait for the Ni sawa tuu generation to die off!! Bure kabisa

The Know It Alls on Mwakilishi, you have to accept that DJ Evolve, and his immediate family, have the first right to either condemn, or forgive Babu Owino, and not you. So far neither the DJ himself, who can talk, or his Dad, has said anything negative about Owino. If you condemn him, but the DJ who was shot does not, pili pili usioila yakuwasha Nini?

@settled Nomand, you're wrong on this one. Awino's crime in the shooting of Evolve is a crime against the good people of Kenya and not just Evolve, Evolve's dad or his family. In fact the charges should read "Babu Owino Vs The Republic of Kenya". Therefore, every Kenyan and every descent human being has a duty - in fact, a moral obligation to condemn any gun - trotting criminal who goes around shooting and causing serious bodily harm to innocent people. Even you @ Settled Nomad - have a duty to do so.

I agree that it is a Crime committed against the people of Kenya. But you cannot eat or drink Criminal Charges... the Future for DJ Evolve, because he is still alive, is to advocate against gun violence.

a “good man” does kind and good things! Agili is only paying the medical bills to protect himself from prosecution. The DJ’s father is simply caught in a catch 22 as he hopes the MP Awino will continue to support his son. He is in a really unfortunate situation!!

YOUR SON IS IN PAIN.
HE LOST HIS LIVELIHOOD...
NOW YOU'RE MILKING...GOD FORBID YOU DON'T PAY FOR IT.
BUT IT'S ONLY IN KENYA WHERE WE'LL SELL OUR OWN MOTHERS AND LOVED ONES FOR CASH.
SHAME ON YOU.
