Uhuru Asks Kenyans to Forgive Him

President Kenyatta on Saturday marked Huduma Day by hosting the 2nd inter-faith national prayer service at State House, Nairobi.

The four-hour service was presided over by a cross-section of religious leaders who delivered scripture readings, sermons, and prayers covering thanksgiving, repentance and forgiveness, national healing and restoration, national aspirations, and leadership and family.

During his address, Kenyatta asked for forgiveness for any wrongdoings even as he urged Kenyans to remain united.

“This is a day that we have agreed to dedicate our nation to God. We have undergone serious challenges, we may have won a number of battles, but the war is yet to be won. We need to continue to ask our creator to stand with us,” Kenyatta said in his speech.

He added: “We are told to thank God and ask for forgiveness then we must forgive each other too. So I beg you all, if I have done anything wrong to anyone, I beg for your forgiveness. And if anyone of you has wronged me, I have forgiven him. That is the way to move forward.”

Uhuru thanked frontline workers and essential service providers for their efforts in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The event was attended by several leaders including Deputy President William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, and his National Assembly counterpart Justin Muturi, among others.

Start by returning COVID funds.Ensure hospitals have medicines not doctors going on strike for lack of pay while the MPIGS are fighting to get a pension.Fix some of what is wrong with Kenya then maybe you can ask for forgiveness.Putting aside one day of prayer is a joke.Instead of asking for forgiveness how about producing results. We are tired of the same old tricks.

The prayers had to come to him so he could ask for forgiveness. You have to humble yourself to God then ask for forgiveness.

@menye - you need to ask for forgiveness given the many innocent people you have killed along Naivasha/kinangop road in the wee hours of the night as you trapped their vehicles!

You are the last bustard to comment on issues of forgiveness! You will burn in hell for killing innocent people. You and the Naivasha prison guards should be arrested and jailed for life.

You also use your wheelchair as a mkokoteni to steal old ladies cabbage, waru, and matharu at the Gikomba market! A crippled guy like you should stop stealing from old mamas!

Prayer will not do it, return all the looted land and money to Kenyan people, then you can ask for forgiveness, other than that just a waste of time. You cannot take God for a ride He is the most high.

Maombi ni ushirikina. Ushirikina hausaidii kukomesha ufisadi ulioenea katika nchi yote nzima.

Prayers belong to the :superstition" department. Belief in superstition will not solve the corruption that exists throughout the entire country.

Watu wanaomba kila dakika, saa, siku, wiki, mwezi, na pia mwaka na ufisadi unazidi kuongezeka. Kwa hiyo, kuomba ni kupoteza wakati.

People pray every minute, hour, day, week, month, and year and yet corruption has been on the increase. Therefore, praying is a waste of time.

Dawa ya kukomesha ufisadi mara moja nchini ni kuchukua kila kitu mfisadi alicho nacho.

The best solution that can be implemented in order to eliminate corruption is to take away all that that has been amassed illegally.

Late PRESIDENT MOI did the same just to fool Kenyans and protect his ill gotten WEALTH. I'm not a preacher, but i understand the bible and the Koran.
Forgiveness starts with your inner self and then making right of all the wrongs you've committed.
DO WHAT'S RIGHT. RETURN ALL THE MONEY YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE STOLEN. IT'LL BE PAINFUL ,BUT WHEN JESUS TALKED ABOUT A CAMEL AND THE EYE OF THR NEEDLE..HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT.

Forgiveness start with return of Natural Resources looted from Kenya from the time British imperialists invaded Kenya upto now.

Kenya was all set for looting & corruption by Wakoloni collaboraters the moment Freedom Fighters surrendered their weapons in exchange of economicless freedom. They were mischievously outsmarted by Jomo who never honored the terms of surrender agreement at Ruring'u standium in Nyeri in 1963.

Her majesty the Queen Govt in London made sure that Jomo never honored that agreement with the so called "terrorists" back then.

Neither committing nor fulfilling that agreement became the hallmark of Jomo's Govt. It continued to be perfected both as a Govt policy as well as a political tactic from then until now.Land resources were grabbed and dished to who was who in the Govt. Equally too were corruption and favourism to those who were royalists to the new Nation.

Kenya ended up becoming a nation of 10 millionaires and 10 million beggars as GM Kariuki perfectly described. It is a lesson learned from the mistake of the past. US of A will never ever negotiate the 2nd amendment for anything! Because the forefathers knew the price of freedom after the War of Revolution against Great Britain.

So, when a revolution come around, don't trade your arms for anything.
