Uhuru and Raila to Launch Nationwide BBI Campaigns Next Week

President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga are set to launch nationwide campaigns to drum up support for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Speaking during a media briefing on Wednesday, the BBI Secretariat announced that the campaigns to sensitize Kenyans on the Constitutional amendment push will begin on March 1st.

BBI Secretariat co-chair Junet Mohammed said the countrywide drive will be spearheaded by 10 committees.

"We shall start the campaigns on March 1st and we shall have 10 committees that will spearhead the exercise across the country," said Junet.

The secretariat said Kenyatta and Odinga will take lead in the sensitization campaigns ahead of the referendum scheduled for June.

BBI Secretariat co-chair Dennis Waweru expressed confidence that Kenyans will pass the Bill in the referendum, citing the overwhelming support it received in the county assemblies. So far, 40 county assemblies have endorsed the Bill while one (Baringo) has rejected it.

Having attained the support of at least 24 county assemblies as required by the law, the Bill will be tabled in both the National Assembly and the Senate.

Once the two Houses make their decisions on the Bill, the Speakers will communicate to the President, who will then send a message to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to hold a referendum within 90 days.

What a great idea! Building bridges by abusing others and treating others with contempt. Wonders never cease if a president elected to govern and solve problems now hits the road telling the youth that BBI is needed to implement a government policy like youth fund- already there and delay taxing youth start-ups (con job since KEMSA start-ups were getting 320millions on day one!) Do they need tax holiday? BBI for 35% which you can do today without any change of law? Refusing to fund our schools/universities so our kids can beg for bursaries/ HELB loans? What a moron? So every government elected from now on will BBI to do what it was elected to do? What BS is this? How can 48million Kenyans have their brains arrested by these juveniles that we have to listen to anything they say? It is all about positions and holding on to power to loot and jail opponents. How many youths do you appoint today? Zero- your friends- inclusive- zero! Sell the snake oil elsewhere.

Hungry Billionaire/wanjika Kenyans will apply MAKAMASHI & PUU PUU to condemn themselves to DESTITUTION if they pass BBI for creation of a few billionaires. The big question is-Where will that 35% come from if they cannot afford to give counties 15% at present? Why add more constituencies & MPs instead of just additional funds to the densely populated areas? Will Kenyan continue taking loans to pay salaries to the expanded govt including added hookers/escorts/prostitutes for male MPs?Why is the BBI nonsense silent on corruption?BBI has been overtaken by events as ICC guard has changed.Muuaji Raila is no longer untouchable.Prosecutor Khan knows everything about PEVs and is waiting fo the SAVAGE to kill a FLY(not a HUMAN BEING),a FLY to be precise.

What's worse btw superbloated wage bill, more loans and taxes amid poverty and inability to give counties their 35pc aka death of county development?

Also increased taxes, means a less conducive business environment. Which leads to less profits. Therefore less revenue for businesses as well as KRA.Therefore govt will have less money to meet its financial obligations.
