Deputy President William Ruto has pledged to protect President Kenyatta’s legacy if he is elected president in 2022.
Ruto, who spoke on Wednesday during Mashujaa Day celebrations at Wang’uru Stadium in Kirinyaga, said he will use his bottom-up economy approach to accomplish Uhuru’s Big Four Agenda.
“I assure you as your deputy for the last nine years, God willing that I will make sure your legacy and the agenda you have set on the unity of this nation and the transformation of our nation under the big four agenda together with the bottom-up approach will take this country to greater heights,” said Ruto amid cheers from the crowd.
The deputy president pointed out that under Kenyatta’s leadership, Kenya has witnessed an unprecedented transformation in all sectors, noting that he has set the standards for his successors.
“Your place in the history of this country is not only secure, it’s also prominent, you have set standards for leaders coming after you,” said Ruto.
He added: “I want to give you our assurance, myself and my competitors here that we will protect the legacy you have set, we will ensure that nothing you leave behind is left uncompleted.”
"We will work together in a peaceful manner respecting everybody's rights, being tolerant and peaceful because we do have not another nation, this is the only Kenya we have and it is our duty to protect it.”

The only person who can create and defend Uhuru's legacy is Uhuru himself. Just like former presidents Kibaki, Moi and Kenyatta did.

These two thieves have set Kenya backwards .There is no legacy to protect just a constant reminder of how corruption has been enhanced including the creation of Covid millionaires and the ballooning debt to China which they will continue to milk since they need money for elections
Empty promises, empty rhetoric is all it is. The plunderer now assumes he is a kahuna. All these politicians care about is lining up their pockets while in power at the behest of the common man. Never trust any promises made by politicians just hot air.
Legacy of stealing and killing should not be upheld.

UHURU will be campaigning for RUTO next year. RAILA is unpredictable ,UHURU knows this. Not unless UHURU has something on Raila, which I doubt.
