Martha Karua Rules Out the Possibility of Being Raila's Running Mate in 2022

Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua has ruled out the possibility of being ODM leader Raila Odinga’s running mate in the 2022 elections.

Karua, who spoke during a leaders' meeting at Kerugoya Starwood Hotel on Saturday, insisted she will be contesting for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat, which is currently held by Anne Waiguru.

"I have not declared to be someone's running mate nor have I been approached by anybody. I will be running for the Kirinyaga governor’s seat in the next polls," Karua remarked.

At the same time, Karua stated that the people of Mt Kenya will only support a presidential candidate who will address the region’s challenges, including insecurity and poor coffee and tea prices.

She also warned leaders from the region against folding their political parties ahead of next year’s general elections, noting that such a move would be suicidal as it would be difficult to bargain during power-sharing.

Karua cited Deputy President William Ruto, who she said is regretting after dissolving his URP party in the run-up to the 2017 elections.

“At the moment there are a lot of political fights between the President and his deputy, the deputy president has no power over the control of Jubilee," Karua noted.

Beautiful! Martha will not do a good job as the DP! She is too up tight to handle that job efficiently! That certainly opens a way for others such as Peter Kenneth!

It is karua’s fault! She does not have the charisma to governize the electorates!

Raila needs someone with some positive energy, humour, and not someone to drag him down with boredom! Karua is just too stiff and very focus on the trivial things!

Karua puts me to sleep every time she opens her mouth to speak! It is her nature and that won’t change!

It might as well cost her the governorship! She shows a lot of bitterness, pain, and a sense of entitlement. She is just too much of an old school type of politician! She is very cold in the way she carries herself! She thinks she is better than anyone else!

She will not win the governship. The people decided on some one else unfortunately their choice was a thief who is crazy enough to think she will be VP god help us.Time waits for no man. When other politicians look beyond being governor she is still stuck there ati her votes were stolen.Younger more ambitious candidates are now available and in Kenya where the electorate consists mainly of the youth age is not on her side.
