Three Terror Suspects Caught Taking Photos of Kakamega State Lodge and a Judge's Residence

Police in Busia are holding three terror suspects after they were found taking photos of government premises in Kakamega.

The suspects reportedly took pictures and videos of the State Lodge, a judge’s residence, and regional coordinators’ administration offices in Kakamega on Sunday, according to a police report.

Their suspicious activities were noticed by a police constable attached to Kakamega police station and a GSU officer stationed at Kakamega State Lodge.

They were identified as Juliet Nyadzua Subira (24), Fatma Abdulhakim Zubedi (29), and Evans Oluoch Owiti (36).

“They were challenged by the officers but they alleged that they were taking the photographs for fun. They were arrested on suspicion of being involved in terrorism activities and escorted to Kakamega Police Station,” reads a police report.

Police kept their mobile phones and motor vehicle registration number KCQ 900N as exhibits.

Confirming the incident, Kakamega County Criminal Investigations Officer James Lelia said the suspects were handed over to the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) in Busia for further grilling.

“They were transferred to Busia and handed over to the ATPU who are investigating the matter,” said Lelia.

They should just say they don’t know how to identify a Terrorist.

Taking pictures of public buildings does qualify as a Terrorist activity.
