Raila Calls for Peace as Azimio Moves to Supreme Court to Challenge Ruto's Victory

Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga has urged his supporters to remain peaceful as they prepare to move to the Supreme Court to challenge the results of the August 9th presidential election.

While insisting that the outcome of the election was interfered with, Odinga said the coalition will exercise democracy by seeking legal redress at the apex court.

"We have decided to move to court because we want to see justice served and peace prevail in our nation. We want to know the truth because some of the things that were done by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) prior to the announcement of the presidential polls are very questionable," said Odinga after a host of religious leaders paid him a visit at his Karen residence on Saturday.

Odinga indicated that the seven IEBC commissioners have differed on the outcome of the presidential results, adding that it remains unclear on who won the election.

IEBC Vice Chairperson Juliana Cherera alongside commissioners Irene Masit, Justus Nyang'anya and Francis Wanderi have disputed the announcement of UDA candidate William Ruto as president-elect.

"Based on this, it remains unclear who actually won the presidential polls but we don't want to see chaos on our streets and that's why we have opted to move to court. I will follow the law and present evidence of the said malpractice before the Supreme Court bench who will then determine the petition," Odinga added.

Ruto was declared the winner of the August 9th presidential election after garnering 7,176,141, representing 50.49 percent of the total votes. Odinga came second with 6,942,930 votes

Raila, Juliana Cherera alongside commissioners Irene Masit, Justus Nyang'anya and Francis Wanderi were hand picked by you and Uhuru.
Seems like you already knew the outcome before the other presidential candidates because all of them showed up but you.
Kenyans are smelling a Rat here.
So, my question is, if the supreme court upholds the results, are you going to accept or call for mass protests?
Baba, you can't force your way to every government of the day.
For once let Kenyans enjoy their peace.
You need to blame your inner circle and the pollsters for lying to you.

This man Raila, is a perpetual looser and a perpetual complainer. Never accepts defeat.
Raila, you can best help Kenya by accepting defeat, congratulating President elect. This time you need to rest as an elder and only wait to be asked for advise.
Let your son's and daughters and grandchildren take over from what you have taught them by being an example for over 40 years.
If there is something that you have not given Kenya during your time in government (Over 40 years),Kenya will be given by the next generation!!
LEAVE Kenya in peace!!

If Supreme Court gives Raila his unlikely prayers for a repeat elections, he is yet again going to boycott it claiming it still will be run by same IEBC. The court has no mandate to run elections nor choose its electoral officials.

I'm no fan of Ruto and I think Raila was the better of the two evils. It was disappointing that my preferred candidate did not run. That said, Raila don't be Trump. Accept and move on. Better yet retire from politics.
