Nairobi Businessman Found Dead After Wife Refused to Guarantee a Sh2 Billion Loan

Police in Nairobi are investigating the mysterious death of a 50-year-old businessman who was found dead at his home in Karen on Monday morning.

Francis Kiambi Kiriro was discovered dead following an argument with his wife Mary Waigwe Muthoni, according to a police report on the incident.

Muthoni, who reported her husband’s death, told police that they came back home at around midnight after spending time at an entertainment joint at Karen shopping centre.

The couple then got into an argument after the wife allegedly declined to be her husband’s guarantor in securing a Sh2 billion loan he was seeking to open a business.

After the disagreement, the two reportedly went to sleep in different rooms, only for Kiambi to be found dead with vomit on his bedside.

“They each spent the night in different rooms and the deceased never woke up since then, but could be heard snoring throughout the day and night and had vomited in his bedroom. It was until today at around 0600hrs when she went to check on the deceased and she found him lying dead on his bed with some vomits beside the bed,” reads the police report.

They called a doctor from the Karen Hospital who confirmed the death at around 9 a.m.

Police who visited the businessman’s home said his body had no visible injuries. The body was moved to Lee Funeral Home awaiting postmortem.

Kiambi, an established businessman, previously vied for the Tharaka Nithi County senatorial seat but was unsuccessful.

@Juju, I wouldn't say all of them are murderers but it makes you wonder whether most of them have the killer instinct that remains suppressed waiting for the right time to emerge and kill or pay to kill a husband. Mimi nilioa mhindi siwataki.

She wanted the guy dead so she can keep all his wealth alone. It is all about shillings and cents in today’s marriage; and the dude is often the biggest loser because he is always in denial.

There might not be any foul play here but go going by common trends with these Mountain women, it is always suspicious when a rich husband dies in bed.

It is every where in Kenya and the world. Gold diggers are every where but the Kenyan gold diggers have broken the record! They kill men like you would strangle a chicken ready to boiled it for dinner. It is even scarily to think of getting married to any woman anywhere in this world.

House of mumbi had no men, 9 girls only. Matriarchal society hence the trouble these men are facing. Men are allowed to live just coz of sperms and money they provide. Once money fills the bank and kids lives assured they are discarded. Shetani ashindwe

What seems obvious may not be... For starters, its easy to assume that he argument was about the 2 billion loan.Well, it could even have been about sex.See after a a nice candle light diner the man may have expected some bedroom action, but was turned down...
We do not know his medical condition, the man may have mixed drinks with prescription drugs that should not be mixed alcohol.
Even another man may have been behind his death, like a prospective partner. He kills you and takes your ideas.
Well after all these random guesses, I would strongly say 95% the spouse dunit.
