Licenses of Four Kenyan-Born Nurses in the US Revoked Following FBI Probe

Four Kenyan nurses working in the United States have had their licenses revoked after a probe by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) determined they lacked sufficient qualifications for licensure.

The Washington State Department of Health (WDH) invalidated the accreditations for Gabriel Ndung'u, Irene Waithera, Ruth Kamau, Elizabeth Nga'ng'a, and six others following the FBI findings.

The others Abera Yoseph, Antso Yangmotso, Okpalobi Shirley, Tecleab Amanuel, Igwe Ijeoma, and Mesele Yeshiwork.

The FBI opened an investigation after reports emerged in January that three nursing schools in South Florida issued sham credentials to over 7,600 students, which allowed them to take a national test, obtain licenses and become registered nurses.

The institutions are Siena College, Sacred Heart International Institute, and Palm Beach School of Nursing.

“In conjunction with ongoing investigations into the legitimacy of multiple Florida-based nursing schools, the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission (NCQAC) has taken non-disciplinary action to rescind the nursing (RN) license of the following individuals,” said WDH in a press release.

NCQAC similarly denied four applicants for RN licensure in Washington with academic qualifications from certain Florida-based nursing schools on the basis of failure to prove qualifications for licensure.

"The list of NCQAC actions to rescind licenses or deny applications associated with the Florida-based nursing schools investigation will be updated on a weekly basis, when such actions become final," WDH added.

As bad as this is, it cannot rival what happens in Kenya. At least the nurses passed the national boad exams. In short, they "skipped classes",and went straight to the exam room. In Kenya, no exams. One goes straight to river road, and have a certificate printed in 30 minutes. No double acrime was commited, and they shall face the law.
I would like to know the staff at the Sacred Heart International Institute.I bet there are quite few Naijas and Kenyans. Stay away from crime Kenyans.

@ GG, where you compare two evil rarely do they appear equal, everything considered,in that regard one is" better "of" worse". Actually I haver reread what I wrote, and I dont see where I say there is anything good coming from this.I said it was a crime.

Comrade Maxiley,
This is what happens. When white are doing the same crap, no one talks about it. But the issue is when we start milking this bi$$h, then it becomes an issue.
Cases in point, health care, taxes, etc.
Think about it.

Jesus Christ! How can someone use fraudulent means to enter a profession in whose hands peoples' lives depend? All for the almighty dollar? I have heard how Kenyan RNs denigrate other Kenyans who work in non-inspiring jobs and I am now imagining the shame and pain these "holier than thou" ex-RNs will go through whenever they meet those they thought nothing of.

You can pass the boards but if you have no training the lives of your patients are jeopardized. Registered nurses making major decisions that impact the life of their patients.

I pray no patient died or came to harm/irreversible injury while you were taking care of them. You will be sued for murder/manslaughter. I am sure that is why the FBI is quite right now awaiting the next step.

Let us call a spade a spade.
LACK OF LANGUAGE POLICY IN KENYA AND OTHER AFRICAN NATIONS IS WHAT HAS BROUGHT ABOUT THIS TRAGEDY and MANY OTHER TRAGEDIES FOR OUR PEOPLE! It's time to take a hard look at the education that Kenyans get with using and committing themselves to a foreign language. Instead of blaming those Kenyans, it's time to ask our government to look hard at Kenya's language policy since Independence.
How many have gotten lost in a foreign language that their highest achievement in that language ends up in just stammering in those foreign languages.
We have all heard about Kenyan English, Nigerian English etc. Why not English.
It's time to ask?
Why get tested in foreign languages?
" Any education that does not take into consideration the inseparable unity between the African lineage and African thinking is based on false principles and must lead to the aliena tion of the individual from his own self, his principles, his people,
and his past".
We are at crossroads.
We were not meant to operate in foreign languages but in our own languages by the creator.
All these errors and mistakes are a product of lack of language policies in our African nations.
All other countries operate in their own languages.
Japan....Japanese
Germany...Germanic languages
China....Chinese
Europe ...English and other European languages
America... English
Kenyans and Africans must ask ourselves? Who are we and what do we speak or do we just end up stammering in foreign languages.
Why not invest in our own languages?
We must ask our governments to address
Language policy!!
