Applauding Kenya's Unrecognized Heroes in the Diaspora

The role of Kenyans and Africans with Kenyan roots in the diaspora cannot be overlooked when discussing the contributions of Africans in the Diaspora.

In the global arena, there exists an abundance of Kenyans and individuals with Kenyan roots who have left a lasting impact. Among these remarkable figures are Barack Obama, the first African American president of the United States, and Lupita Nyong’o, the esteemed actress residing in the US and adorned with numerous accolades. It is of utmost importance to acknowledge the presence of countless unsung heroes who proudly represent Kenya across the world. These unsung heroes are the ordinary Kenyans who reside and toil in foreign lands, often without receiving the recognition they deserve. Yet, their undeniable influence extends both abroad and within their homeland.

Important to Kenya's economy and societal development are its citizens who live outside the country. Kenyans who work overseas remit billions of shillings each year. Sources such as the Central Bank of Kenya assess that there are over three million Kenyan citizens residing permanently or temporarily in other regions and countries. Although these men and women account for less than one-tenth of Kenya's 50 million population, they contributed $4.027 billion in 2022.

To put this into perspective, Kenya earned $1.8 billion from tourism in 2022. However, the remittances from Kenyans abroad surpassed these figures, claiming the top spot as the main source of foreign exchange. It's crucial to mention how these inflows have been consistently rising since 2016. The continuous growth in diaspora remittances brings prosperity to both the economy and society.

Kenyans living abroad deserve recognition as genuine champions. Despite enduring prolonged separation from their loved ones, their bond remains resilient and unwavering. This truth became undeniable amidst the pandemic, as remittances defied all odds and continued to flourish. It is of utmost importance that Kenya lend a helping hand to Kenyans in the diaspora to maintain their social and economic impact back home.

Advocating for the implementation of secure and cost-effective digital platforms for monetary transfers is a crucial step in empowering diasporans to make the most of their earnings. Additionally, it is imperative to tackle the address the cultural, social, and political barriers that hinder their reintegration when they return home. Despite the increasing globalization, the significance of heritage and culture remains deeply ingrained within the African diaspora community.

The best gift you can give diaspora investors is get a piece of land in every town hassle free and reputable construction company that could do the work for them without hoops and hurdles that come with individual in diaspora having to deal with dozens of conmen at many levels. That would actually be an estate in itself.

All the Kenyans submitting Diaspora remittances around the world to Kenya should suspend the remittances in phases. Instead they should invest in other countries that have some positive ROI unlike our country. I get the fact that globally things are tough. Try our neighboring countries who will welcome our hard earned dollars and don’t have those draconian taxes. There are many bright & honest Kenyans or other nationalities with networks that diaspora Kenyans can tap into or form businesses, & get away from Kenya. Just saying, something to think about.

Why don’t you invest your money where your mouth is? There is no one you can trust in Kenya these days!

Anything you buy in Kenya these days is more expensive than buying it in America - eg houses, land, commercial property, etc! The used cars sold there are more expensive than new cars in America. The dollar has severely tanked; and why would you want to trade a strong dollar with a weak rupees ( or is it Kshs)?

Which neighboring countries are you talking about? The Alshabab invested goddam Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda or Ethiopia that has never ending civil wars??

Africans are generally cursed by a Demon that lives at the bottom of the Indian Ocean! - it seems that way to me! I am quickly losing love for my country!!!

LET'S ALL CAMPAIGN TO SUSPEND REMITTANCES TO KENYA. It's only a matter of time before Ruto plots of ways to start taxing it. I'm sure breathing tax is coming too to reduce the carbon footprint to save the environment. Aish, huyu Ruto na watu wake wa Klaus Schwab na hiyo organization ya kumaliza Africans The World Economic Forum (WEF) na Kenya ndio pilot project.

Ruto clearly recognizes the positive effects of the diaspora!
That’s why he has KRA officers at the airports going through their luggage to tax each and every T-shirt, shoe, handkerchief, bar soap, cologne, deodorant, socks, phone, iPad, laptop, etc.
And any other accessories that these diaspora folks use to generate income with while vacationing with family in Kenya!
Bure kabisa hii serikali ya wezi!!

Hollywood is a demon infested hole. Where someone must sacrifice their soul to get ahead in world stuff then later dive into hell head first. Zero sum

Wow @maxiley. Why are you wasting your fresh breathe addressing a damn imbecile from the Satan’s hell. This bitch Toto has a psychiatric problem that needs a good doctor to fix it! She is always itching in between her wobbly short turtle legs.

Which character are you talking about @maxiley?? This lone idiot has no character at all! She is just an obvious reflection of the ghost that damped her here in the face of the earth! No one sensible man would deep in her fish smelly hole! And do you think the sisters who do the licking would want this lost cause??

Look at this one fool named “a girl Toto”! Kweli wewe ni mtoto kabisa. She thinks a woman has to wide open her legs to make it in this world! This kind of psychotic mental outlook is what has kept women oppressed for a long time! She should be very happy whenever one of her sisters paves the way for her small mind! Ujinga ni kitu kibaya sana!

MLACHAKE (not verified)     Sat, 11/25/2023 @ 06:34pm

Good luck!
Kenya’s firmly in the jaws of hyenas who are hell bent on destroying the country for good. Ruto, like Uhuru before him, has clearly shown he’s not intending to go after corruption

Thank you @simamaimara lipita had to.sacrifice her booty to get where is is at .

She doesn't have any credentials. Except her pussy cat.

Well I don't have specifics on her per se. She's very talented and not everyone in Hollywood is of the devil. Some strong believers worth recognition: Denzel, Tyler Perry, Chuck Norris despite the tide

@agirltoto - a bet you a dollar that your hole emits some diabolical stench that even Satan and his dirty angles won’t allow to enter Hell! So, how did you find out your pussy is sweet? After licking Kevin’s small balls immediately after he retreated from your hole because of the nasty stench that came out it?? What is “pushy”? Tell your sugar dad Kevin to sponsor you for an English spelling class!..

Surely I now know that I don’t have to look far to find a true dummy! You feel me @totogirl??? Did you say you are Kevin’s side job? Wow, I would recommend if a man has to cheat on his wife, it is essentially necessary to look up for a woman with some bit of brains!!

fanta (not verified)     Wed, 11/29/2023 @ 01:01am

And who is this a girl toto? is he/she even a girl or decoy? And to be honest you are spoiling for Kevin...people will equate him (already in bad books) with your small thinking brain. Your reasoning or argument is below normal IQ. If i were Kevin Anyona i will dissociate with this small thinking mind or call him/her out.

It is often said that “birds of a feather usually flock together”! Kevin made get be even worse than his decoy agirltoto! I get really confused when a woman (hoping Toto ain’t a gay dude) start behaving like some dude on the block! Kevin bears quite a lot of responsibility for allowing his name to dragged in the mud by agirltoto! Maybe he thinks it would help him in his restaurant joint!
