You Must Respect Kalonzo, Wiper Party Tells NASA Members

John Wanjohi Feb 23, 2018

In what shows the existence of glaring cracks within National Super Alliance (Nasa), Wiper party has now demanded that its leader Kalonzo Musyoka be accorded respect by members of the opposition coalition.

Speaking at Stony Athi Resort in Machakos County, Wiper leaders led by former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama called for an end to criticism on Musyoka by some members of the coalition, following his absence at the 'swearing-in' ceremony of Raila Odinga as people's president on January 30th.

The leaders said Kalonzo should be shown the same respect accorded to his fellow co-principals Raila, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang'ula

“If Kalonzo had taken the oath alone, he would have still been criticised. We are on course and if need be, Kalonzo will be sworn in at an appropriate time," said Muthama.

"Those abusing the Wiper leader should understand Kalonzo was called many names during the 2007 election but he still became vice president,” Muthama added.

They further demanded that the four co-principals make a joint statement and give clear details on what transpired before the swearing in ceremony.

"We as leaders are demanding that NASA principals come out and tell Kenyans what happened during the swearing-in," said Muthama.
