New Trial Date Set for Suspected Kenyan Serial Killer Billy Chemirmir in Dallas, Texas

A new trial for suspected Kenyan-born serial killer Billy Kipkorir Chemirmir is set to begin in April in Dallas, Texas.
This is after the initial case against Chemirmir, who is accused of killing at least 18 elderly women in Texas over a two-year period, was declared a mistrial in November.
The 12 jurors selected for his capital murder trial in the 2018 smothering of 81-year-old Lu Thi Harris said they were left “hopelessly deadlocked” at 11-1. Judge Raquel Jones urged jurors to continue deliberations before accepting there would be no resolution.
After the mistrial, Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot vowed he would retry the case and the date has now been set for April 25th, according to court records.
During the initial trial, jurors were shown a surveillance video showing Harris and Chemirmir shopping at the same Walmart before she was discovered dead in her Far North Dallas home hours later.
The discovery followed the arrest of Chemirmir on an attempted murder charge in Plano, where 93-year-old Mary Bartel was revived after neighbors found her unconscious on her apartment floor at Preston Place Retirement Community.
Bartel said she was attacked by an intruder, with police linking a suspicious vehicle on the premises to another senior living complex and another attempted murder case in Frisco. The vehicle led police to Chemirmir, who was arrested at his apartment in March 2018.
Police officers said they saw him toss a jewelry box into a dumpster. Inside the box was Harris’ name. Since then, authorities have linked another 17 murders to the 49-year-old suspect, but they believe the actual toll is even higher.
Speaking after the mistrial, Chemirmir’s attorney Kobby Warren insisted that the evidence against his client “was all circumstantial.” He has also maintained his innocence in the case.
Chemirmir, who moved to the US in the 1990s after marrying an American citizen, is originally from Eldama Ravine, Baringo County. If convicted, he faces an automatic life sentence without parole.

SERIOUSLY??
In this day and era, and the state does not even have DNA linking him to the MURDERS?? All the state have are the stolen pieces of jewelry. CHARGE him with THEFT.
But, the issue here is, the MEDIA has ALREADY found him guilty. LET'S not forget that most us BELIEVE in what the media says without even questioning any facts before us.
Again, the DALLAS DA wants to close all the unsolved MURDERS/ DEATHS that happened in all NURSING FACILITIES in the DFW AREA.
LASTLY, his name and COLOUR gives him the guilty verdict even before the second trial begins.

Interesting you bring up the race card ……all of his victims were white - you could also say it was racially motivated. He is guilty - my mom was a victim 😓

I don't know if he is guilty or innocent. However you have already adjudged him guilty by calling the victims his victims. If he is found not guilty, will you still call them his victims? Does the presumption of innocence not extend to him and if not why not? I find your use of the phrase "race card" interesting. As a a tall black man, my size and race are the 1st two things white people notice. It's not a card I play and I can't control white people's reactions and biases that they have built up via misinformation, miseducation and general ignorance of those not like them. In Kenya, nobody cares since the majority look like me and don't ascribe negative characteristics based on that alone. Do you honestly think if Dylann Roof was black, he'd have been taken to Burger King or would he be six feet under. Bias against black people is real and not a figment of our imaginations. Your mother may have been a victim but that doesn't make him guilty. Wait for the verdict before calling him guilty or innocent

In US , even u commit a small crime you can’t run away or hide, It’s not about racism here , look at the previous case of Brian laundry who killed his fiancé Gabby Petito , The FBA and state of Florida spend millions in trying to find Brian and when they found him dead after committing suicide the forensic department did an autopsy and found strong evidence he committed the crime and killed himself. killing people in order to benefit yourself it’s not the right thing to do. There’s strong evidence and that’s why he’s been charged. Also in US there’s cameras everywhere and there’s always agency working with police in finding the suspects and many people here should watch forensics files and understand that.

You sound like a very confused fella. Which part of US do you live or read about? Just cause you saw one case on TV you believed everything? So, the gospel according to you is that the US always catches all law breakers cause there are cameras everywhere? Oh gullible African. That’s not always the case. And for strong evidence? Here they follow jury system and when the jury says you are guilty then you are guilty and when they say you are innocent then you are innocent in the court of law no matter what the court of public opinion says. Jury said he was innocent, and so it is. After they retry and the jury so he’s guilty, so it shall be. End of the story….strong evidence or weak evidence

If it were your loved one that was murdered, I doubt the race is the issue, rather an illegal immigrant who preyed on elderly women primarily. He deserves the electric chair.
