How Kenyan Man Traded 3 Careers for Dental Medicine in Kansas

Dr Gilbert Omido's path to becoming a successful dentist in Kansas exemplifies the power of ambition.

Growing up in a Kenyan village, Dr Omido dreamt of a career in medicine. This dream, however, would not be achieved easily. Life presented Dr Omido with numerous detours. He tackled various professions, from construction and banking to petroleum chemistry, to finance his education. Despite these diversions, his childhood aspiration of becoming a dentist remained a constant flame. Even after earning a degree in chemistry and working for several years as a petroleum chemist, Dr Omido refused to let his childhood dream fade.

This unwavering determination led him to pursue dentistry at the University of Oklahoma. Shifting gears from the complex world of petroleum chemistry to the intricate field of dentistry presented a new set of challenges. Unfazed, Dr Omido navigated the demanding academic and professional requirements with a determined resolve. His perseverance ultimately culminated in the fulfilment of his lifelong dream of becoming a dentist.

In 2009, Dr Omido founded Omido Exquisite Dentistry in Kansas. Over the years, the practice has flourished, providing comprehensive dental care to the community. Dr Omido's commitment extends beyond simply offering services; he prioritizes personalized care, ensuring each patient receives the treatment they deserve. He maintains a deep connection to his Kenyan roots and aspires to establish a similar dental practice in his homeland. Additionally, Dr Omido fosters a strong bond with his fellow Kenyans, organizing gatherings and offering support whenever possible.

Reflecting on his journey, Dr Omido acknowledges the profound impact of his wife's support and his dedicated employees' professionalism. He emphasizes the critical role of hard work, resilience, and family in achieving one's goals. Dr Omido emphasizes the importance of fatherhood in his personal and professional life. He describes the enriching experience of being actively involved in his children's lives. This approach contrasts the traditional roles he observed during his childhood where fathers were often distant figures. Dr Omido prioritizes being present and engaged in his children's upbringing, rejecting the stereotypical model.

He finds deep satisfaction in being a hands-on father, cherishing moments with his children and actively contributing to their growth and development. His pursuit for excellence continues with his recent appointment as an adjunct professor at the Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Through dedication and commitment to his childhood dream, Dr Omido has managed to carve a path of success and fulfilment in the United States.

@A GIRL TOTO. Diasporamessenger.com is Worse than Mwakilishi.com. Worse, WORse, WORSE!!!!
*Diasporamessenger.com's "News Headings" (in particular) drive Me crazy.
⚠ It's like Diasporamessenger.com's Publishers NEVER Went to ENGLISH Grammar school.
Eg. You'll read Something like: The Government of Kenya "Say" that .... *It should be "SayS" (with letter S at the End of it).
Or: Kenyan Diasporans "SayS" that ... *Get the S out of Say(S); Mr. Diasporamessenger.com.!!!
It should read: Kenyan Diasporans "Say"; not "Says".

@Mwakilishi, if you continue publishing these rags to success stories further, I am going to file a civil lawsuit on the basis of cruel and unusual infliction of mental distress.
