Mike Sonko Nabs Sh7 million in a Sting Operation at City Hall

A sting operation at City Hall in Nairobi on Wednesday led by new Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko nabbed 7 million shillings in cash that had not been banked.

In a statement on his Twitter account, the new Nairobi county boss said that he led his team in carrying out the operation following a tipped off by an anonymous source.

"It is completely unacceptable that yesterday's collection in excess of Sh7 million in cash was lying with the cashiers by 11 am yet the county's bank is only 50 metres away," he said.

"Under my watch, City Hall has ceased to be anyone's cash cow. We shall streamline revenue collection and management."

In his acceptance speech during his inauguration ceremony on Monday, Sonko declared war on cartels at the City Hall and promised tp streamline collection of revenue and management.

Following the incident, Sonko directed the county cash office to install CCTV cameras immediately.

Sonko said that the CCTVs will enable monitoring by his office, the CID and NSIS.

Kudos to my new Governor.
Now go after Kidero and Mueke and see what they have hidden in their financial closets.

It's good that jambazi Mbuvi defeated jambazi Kidero but Nairobians will benefit with nothing.I just wonder how pharmacist Sonko concluded that his majambazi cashiers wanted to pocket the cash.Did he find out how many cheques were banked in individual cashiers' A/cs?Who told Sonko that money is only stolen in cash form?Did he find out how much the cashiers had transferred from Nairobi County A/cs to their inindividual, relatives A/cs?AFTER ALL,HOW CAN A DRUGLORD/JAIL ESCAPEE FIGHT CORRUPTION?Ujinga multiplied
