Armed Robbers Filmed Shooting Man During Botched Robbery Incident in Nairobi

Detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have launched a manhunt for two armed robbers caught on CCTV shooting a man during a botched robbery incident at a retail shop in Nairobi’s Kasarani estate.
CCTV footage dated November 5th shows the two armed men posing as customers entering the shop at around 10.30 pm with one of them brandishing a pistol.
The two gunmen then order a male customer to lie on the floor after which they shift their focus to the shop attendant.
Shortly after, the male customer on the ground finds an opportunity to attack one of the gunmen but the robber fights back. The gunman opens fire and continuously shoots as he follows him out of the shop.
The victim named Richard Muema is admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital after he was shot eight times during the incident, Citizen TV reported.
He underwent surgery to remove the bullets from his body with his family appealing for help to raise funds for his medical bill.
DCI urged members of the public to help identify the suspects.
“Detectives have already commenced investigations into this matter with the ultimate aim of bringing all those involved to book. Any person with any information about their IDENTITY can contact #DCI Kasarani or DM us,” DCI said on Twitter.
