Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has flagged 12 Facebook accounts for publishing inciteful content.

Haji on Friday directed Inspector-General of Police Hilary Mutyambai to institute an investigation against the 12 users and their Facebook group, Lamu County Politics Unlimited Group.

The users of the 12 Facebook accounts are said to have published content that may incite feelings of contempt, hatred, hostility, violence, or discrimination towards certain ethnic groups contrary to the law.

Haji said the persons were using the following pseudonyms; Dylan, Cyte Nymz Maina, Muthoni Martha, Lucy Peter, Anthony Mambo, Njeri E. Mwaniki, Frank Mwangi, Josh Mhumble, Alphaken Madiba, Paul Keta Sikujua, David Brighton, and Ndirangu Kenn.

“I hereby direct you to institute comprehensive investigations into the said publications and submit the resultant investigation file within 30 days hereof. A progress report should be forwarded to my office within 14 days for further directions,” Haji said in a letter to Mutyambai.
