AG Office Opens 168 Positions in Massive Recruitment Drive

The Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice has launched a major recruitment drive, announcing 168 positions across multiple departments.

The vacancies comprise 78 State Counsel positions, alongside 30 posts each for Office Assistant III, Assistant Office Administrator III, and Legal Clerk Assistant IV roles. For the Office Assistant III position, candidates need only possess a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade D. These officers will operate under senior supervision, undertaking essential support duties including office maintenance, document handling, and equipment operation. Their responsibilities encompass maintaining workplace cleanliness, managing waste disposal, and facilitating document reproduction services.

The State Counsel positions demand more rigorous qualifications, including a Bachelor of Laws degree, postgraduate legal training, and admission to the Kenyan Bar. These legal professionals will be distributed across various technical divisions, from civil litigation to constitutional affairs, requiring both computer proficiency and adherence to Constitutional requirements. Their work will be fundamental to supporting Kenya's legal infrastructure across multiple specialized departments. The Assistant Office Administrator III role combines administrative expertise with organizational skills.

Successful candidates, who must hold a KCSE mean grade C- with strong language scores and a Diploma in Secretarial Studies, will manage diverse office operations. Their duties will range from handling correspondence and maintaining filing systems to coordinating visitor interactions and supervising office operations. Legal Clerk Assistant IV positions focus on court-related administrative functions. These roles require a KCSE mean grade C- and demonstrated computer proficiency. The positions involve managing court documentation, executing legal processes, and ensuring compliance with judicial procedures.

Additional qualifications such as a Process Server Certificate will provide candidates with a competitive advantage.
