Suspected Al Shabaab IED Attack Kills 8, Among them School Children in Lamu County

Eight people have been confirmed dead in Lamu County after a roadside Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded on the vehicle they were traveling in. Four of those killed were school children who were being escorted to school by police officers to Kiunga from Mararani, Lamu County.
“We have eight fatalities of four children and four police officers,” a senior police officer told Capital FM News from Lamu.
The officer said the four children were part of a group of students who had travelled home for Idd Ul Fitr celebrations held on Monday.
“The attack occurred when the police lorry hit an IED,” another police officer said: “We have several others in hospital with injuries.”
This is the latest of a series of attacks of similar nature suspected to have been conducted by Somalia-based terror group Al Shabaab, and has been targeting security forces at the towns and shopping centers located near the Kenya-Somalia border.
Police are yet to release an official statement regarding the attack.

Since Uhuru and Ruto took over, many innocent Kenyans soldiers let alone civilians have have lost their lives fighting people devoid of logic - the Somali people. He (uhuru) has been asked to pull out Kenyan troops but to no avail. It is time Uhuru and Ruto retire from active politics come August 8.
It is time to try somebody else in power. George Bush the senior took US armed forces in Somalia. Many US troops were slaughtered by my crazy Somali brothers and sisters. When Bill Clinton became the new US president, he pulled US troops from Somalia until Donald returned them again this year.
Raila has already said that he will pull out Kenyan troops from Somalia. As soon as he pulls out our troops, if any Al Shabaab member attacks again, "Wataona cha mtema kuni."
