NASA Announces Daily Anti-IEBC Demos Across the Country

National Super Alliance (NASA) has announced it will now be holding daily anti-Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission protests across the country.

Speaking during the demos in Nairobi on Wednesday, Siaya Senator James Orengo announced that the opposition outfit will be staging the demos on a daily basis all over Kenya in their push for electoral reforms.

“From Monday they need to know the protests will be daily all over the country. We are not here to joke. If there are no reforms, there will be no elections,” he said.

The senator said that their candidate Raila Odinga, bowed out of the October 26th repeat election after it became apparent that the electoral commission was not committed to looking into their demands.

"There is no way the coalition can participate in an election with the same people accused of being the masterminds of the bungled election."

Orengo and other Nasa leaders led supporters in Wednesday's demos in the streets of Nairobi calling for the vacation of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba from office chanting "No reforms, no elections".

Despite the protests being largely peaceful, there were incidents of looting of along Haille sellasie Avenue.

The group marched through Uhuru Highway, Haille selassie, Tom Mboya, Moi Avenue, City Hall Way, Harambee Avenue, Kenyatta Avenue, Muindi Bingu Street, Taifa Road, Wabera Street and University Way.

“Until and after our demands are met we will not negotiate. We will only participate in an election where we know the outcome will be free and fair,” said Orengo.

NASA dropped out of the race. So, why are they protesting? I feel sorry for these poor supporters who are just following their leader Raila Odinga who is so self centered. It's all about him.HE LIVES IN KAREN. THE SUPPORTERS LIVE MOSTLY IN SLUMS!!! HE HAS SECURITY 24/7, YOU HAVE NONE! Why are you destroying your own cities? Be wise and think of your own lives. These politicians will not be there for you after they receive power. Work hard for your own development. Destroying other people's hard earned properties is just wrong!

I admire this Luo woman (Akothee). When all this crap is happening, you see her busy in her farm planting or harvesting vegetables. Yet, she has so much money but she doesn't get involved in these politics. People from Nyanza- utilize your own resources and make use of them. Your land is very fertile. Get out off the streets protesting for a problem creator and do something useful for your own good.

These poor political hooligans have been duped by Orengo and Raila. These jobless folks need to use their brains and realize that when hungry, neither Raila nor Orengo will offer them a meal. Quite pathetic indeed.

Uhuru and Matingi,

Impose curfews., This people are thiefs. Don't get bullied. They withdrew and Kenya must go on. This is nonsense and useless demonstrations. Take those demonstrations to Kisumu.,

@Mwangi- they can't even take the protests to Kisumu. Anyang' Nyongo' said he doesn't want them there😀 Maybe they can take their demos to Siaya or Bondo. Yes, curfew will work well. The country is on a standstill and I don't think Raila cares. Businesses are going downhill, children are suffering in schools. He would love it if this can go on & on for the next 5 years. So dramatic!

Some got their limbs fractured when a car ran over them. It would be interesting to know whether the cord principals even called them to say pole.

We know RAO has withdrawn verbally (though not in writing), so his name will still be on the ballot. Secondly, the high court gave all the other candidates permission to be in the ballot. So there will be an election no matter what RAO does. Being so, RAO knows he does not control the message and is now begging to be arrested, so that he can accuse the gova of high handedness and make the situation ungovernable and the elections undoable. Gova just needs to clobber these rioters to submission Everytime they haribu Mali ya wananchi, until they realize their jokes ain't funny.
