Starehe MP Charles Njagua Wants IEBC to Relocate their Headquarters from Nairobi CBD

Starehe MP Charles Kanyi Njagua wants Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to relocate their offices from Nairobi Central Business District.

The first time MP has written to the electoral commission urging them to move their headquarters from the City Center to Bomas of Kenya in Langata.

Jaguars argues that the presence of IEBC's offices in the CBD, which lies within his constituency, has brought economic woes to Starehe, considering that it is the epicenter of National Super Alliance (NASA) anti-IEBC demonstrations.

“Estimates show that approximately Ksh.100,000,000 is lost, directly and indirectly, when your stakeholders-specifically NASA engage you in the past demos. With the planned daily NASA protests next week, my constituency members are set to lose more,” read the statement from the MP to IEBC.

The singer-politician says he is looking to hold talks with the IEBC regarding the matter after the conclusion of the repeat presidential election set for October 26th.

This comes after the government through acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i outlawed opposition's demos within CBDs of Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa.

The opposition has however vowed to defy the order by the government.
