Kamba Elders, Leaders Pressure Kalonzo to Ditch Opposition for Jubilee

A section of elders and leaders from Ukambani have called on National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka to ditch the opposition and work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking at separate events in Machakos and Makueni counties the Kamba clans governing council of elders and politicians supporting President Uhuru's Jubilee party asked the Wiper Democratic Movement leader to abandon the opposition.

Led by chairman Boniface Kilonzo, the elders, who addressed a media briefing at a Machakos Hotel, said that the opposition"s calls for demonstrations was not in line with the Kamba community, which is peaceful.

“The call for demonstrations is not in good faith because they are meant to cause chaos and destruction of property. This is economic sabotage punishable by law,” he said.

Speaking at Kambu market in Kibwezi East, former chairman of Kenya Medical Training College board chairman Philip Kaloki and a host of other politicians also told the former Vice President to ditch Nasa, which wants to cause chaos and violence in the country.

Kaloki dismissed Raila’s withdrawal from the October 26th repeat presidential election, terming it as insincere.

“The only path to leadership in our country is through the ballot. Raila’s withdrawal from the poll is an indication that their participation was personal and was not for the good of Kenyans,” he said.

The leaders and elders pointed out that community was losing a lot by supporting the the opposition.

On his part, former Mbooni Member of Parliament Kisoi Munyao said the collaboration between Kalonzo and Raila was no longer tenable, saying it was now a ‘liability to the Kamba nation’.

Being a luo This would be the only remedy to finish raila who has no genuine concern for our country. Demonstrators must face the law. Raila does not belong to Kenya and hope everyone comes to their senses so selfish..

The likes of Omondi can tell the development agenda in Luo Land was shelved right at the independence in 1963 claiming Kenya was not yet Uhuru. Raila's father was,Russian trained and a Marxist. He did not buy capitalism. He fought for Majimbo from the word go and when the devolution evolved, Luos did not realize it was Majimbo to develop their own part of the Country. Now the fight is for the position of the President. Little do they know the president will not be able to favour them with free stuff. A good President will only create development and the environment good for business and thst is all that we need. Luos must start anti Raila movement that will fight for their share in the government and encourage Luos to invest in plots and farming and fishing and schools. There are 42 tribes in Kenya and we can't claim it is Our turn to have our tribe president... there is no such entitlement.
